Word List Smasher

This feature goes further than using the green and yellow letters to filter the remaining word lists. It feeds information from the remaining across words into the process that determines the remaining down words. So, for example, if none of the remaining words in the first across word start with an F, all words starting with F are removed for the first down word.

In fact, the word list smasher repeatedly uses remaining across words to generate the remaining down words and then feeds that back to further reduce the across words. The process repeats until the number of remaining words is stable and it can often simply solve the grid after a single guess. List smashing is an attempt to reproduce what players who solve the grid early are doing.
