Game Helper Information

The Squareword Game Helper tool allows you to enter guesses for an historic Squareword game and see the remaining valid across and down words.

Once the guess has been entered, it is appended to the list of guesses at the bottom of the page and the game tiles are filled in as if you were playing the game. In addition, the blue tiles to the right of the game grid and below are filled with the number of remaining valid game words for that row or column. You can see the words in the tool tip for each number. Alternatively, clicking on the number will pop the words up in a scrollable dialog.

To clear the guesses and start again, click the ↺ symbol above the list of guesses.

The basic tool just uses the tiles to filter the remaining words. For historic games, however, there is a "word list smasher" feature (accessed by clicking on this 💥 symbol) and described here.

After using the word list smasher, you can return to the regular tile colouring (and word lists to match) by clicking on the ↻ symbol.
